Last night, Moynat celebrated its U.S. store opening with a cocktail reception and revealed its capsule collection with artist Daniel Arsham, exclusive to the Madison Avenue flagship. The event was hosted by Moynat’s Creative Director Ramesh Nair, CEO Guillaume Davin and artist Daniel Arsham.

The evening began in the boutique with a champagne toast and a viewing of the Moynat collection. Afterwards, guests enjoyed an outdoor terrace cocktail party at the 33 East 74th Street penthouse next door, with hors d’oeuvres provided by Olivier Cheng Catering where DJ Grey Wattz spun for the duration of the party. Selected Daniel Arsham artworks were on display, curated by Galerie Perrotin while floral arrangements and topiaries were arranged by Plant Paradise NY. Pre-selected VIPs carrying the capsule collection tote bags included Daniel Arsham, Stephanie Arsham and Claire Distenfeld. On-site, Arsham and Moynat in-house illustrator Tae-In Song hand painted Leandra Medine of Man Repeller's tote. The limited edition collection is edition of 40.

Joining Moynat’s Creative Director Ramesh Nair, CEO Guillaume Davin to celebrate Daniel Arsham’s collaboration were guests such as:

Ramesh Nair, Daniel Arsham, Stephanie Arsham, Ciara, Claire Distenfeld, Greg & Mona Arnold, Daniela Agnelli, Cristina Azario, Natascha Bodemann, Ian Bradley, Delphine de Causans, Caroline Deroche Pasquier, Diane Dunne, Nevil Dwek, Ronnie Fieg, Manuel Frei, Sky Gellatly, Cindy Farkas Glanzrock, Laura de Gunzburg, Adrian Joffe, Paul & Alice Judelson, Rei Kawakubo, Michele Gerber Klein, Thierry Lasry, Agathe Lerolle, Elizabeth Loomis, Sarah Fazel Maarek, Alex Mustonen, Meredith Ostrom, Polina Proshkina, Nicoletta Santoro, Mortimer Singer, Cameron Silver, Emma Snowdon-Jones, Max Vadukul, Rocky Xu

Daniel Arsham’s playful exploration of space, architecture and form is a natural fit for a House where design is driven by form and detail. Together, they have imagined an exclusive line for the Madison Avenue store: a trompe l’oeil tear out on Moynat initial canvas is featured on tote bags, pouches and notebook covers. This capsule collection will be launched exclusively at the Madison Avenue store.

Moynat Pauline Moynat, a visionary and the only woman trunk-maker in history, founded Moynat in 1849, and soon made the house the most Parisian of the French leather goods and trunk makers of her time. Founded at the time of the establishment of the French railway system, Moynat was always at the forefront of innovation to enable travellers to journey in style. Moynat has always been recognized as an emblem of authentic, discreet and uncompromising luxury. Its boutiques at 348 rue Saint-Honoré in Paris and 112 Mount Street in London have become the haunt of connoisseurs, lovers of beauty looking for elegant and unusual pieces, and thereby stating their strong, personal style signatures.
