Volunteers at Project Feed
Me
PROJECT
FEED ME held an event on Tuesday, November 25th,
2008 at the Childrens Aid Society, at 14-32 W.118th
st. in Manhattan, New York City. The volunteers
were distributing free turkeys to 118 families.
Project Feed Me is the brainchild of Patrick Alvarez,
a Syracuse University student whose family upbringing
began in the shelter systems of New York city. Patrick
Alvarez said that today's event could not be possible
without the help of his caring classmates from Syracuse
University and all of his loving friends and family
who knew him while he was growing up. The Project
Feed Me Team received an award from Childrens Aid
Society representative Mr.Wayne Dawson.

Here
is a quote from the Guggenheim's website about the
artist and the installation: "Maurizio Cattelan
is known for his provocative, paradoxical sculptures,
which frequently invoke the artist's own antiheroic
persona. Cattelan's life-size effigy of a beloved
fairytale character lying facedown in the museum's
fountain reads as a crime scene replete with the
questions of intent: suicide, homicide, or ill-planned
escape?"
