In Franco’s 1960’s Spain, an Israeli scholar is detained for stealing a confidential Inquisition file. An interrogation follows, reviving the story of Spanish priest Andrés González (1447-1486), whose faith is tested when he finds himself in love with a Jewish woman. Conviction is an award-winning play based on a true story of the Spanish Inquisition.

Don’t miss the first-ever stage adaptation of the famous story adapted by Matt Pelfrey and directed by Joe Tantalo for his acclaimed, award-winning Godlight Theatre Company, returning for their sixth season at 59E59 Theaters. It’s 1962. A hot August night lies heavy over the small town of Argo, Alabama. A dead white man is discovered and the local police arrest a black stranger named Virgil Tibbs. The police discover that their prime suspect is in fact a homicide detective from California. As it happens, Tibbs becomes the racially-tense community’s single hope in solving a brutal murder that is turning up no witnesses, no motives and no clues.

During the New York run of Catherine Filloux’s critically acclaimed play Lemkin’s House, Filloux traveled to Srebrenica for the annual genocide commemoration and was inspired to write Dog And Wolf.
