Greetings Theater Lovers,

One of the most fascinating things about living in New York is being around all the counteless incubators that are constantly cooking up new and fun ideas. The subways are filled with art and musicians and everywhere you look there is another show rehearsing its way to Broadway.

Scenes from Stripped by Toni Kasper

On June 25th, I went to Club Babalu at 327 West 44th Street to see Stripped, the play. Stripped was written by the Tulane educated Toni Kasper, who according to an article in the Daily News, got the idea for the play during the 1990's while she was working as a cocktail waitress at strip clubs such as Scores and Tens.

Toni has been shepherding her play through the off-off- Broadway route since 2001, playing at venues such as the East Village Pyramid Club and Don't Tell Mama. Stripped played at Club Babalu from June 16-July 10 and according to the Lawrence Scott, Stripped's producer, they are planning to reopen soon.

With a light plot and lots of skin, Stripped seems a perfect match for Club Babulu, a gorgeous Cuban looking salsa dance hall in Times Square. Powered by disco music and hot dancing, this show is revved up and ready to rock again. For more information log onto

Rock on!
