Are you into feet?
Well, on Wednesday, November 16,
2005 New York City’s closeted shoe people
(from the Sex and the City Manolo Blahnik
groupies to the “I’ll sleep with your
basketball shoes on my pillow” bunch) had
a chance to play footsy at The Bubbly’s Shoe
Auction. All this fun was held at the uber-cool
(and I might add respectable, thank you very much)
Salon, located at 505 West Street at Jane Street
(
www.salonnyc.net) and was for the benefit of
City Harvest.

Philippe Blond shows his shoes (from the Blond line)
There were shoes from a diverse
enough group of celebrities to satisfy every possible
craving: Ivana Trump; Reese Whitherspoon; Star Jones;
Russell Simmons (it’s possible); Carson Kressley;
Amanda Beard; Tony Danza (people are into
the 70’s); Wyclef Jean. Also up for bid were
designer shoes from every corner for the fashion
shoe world from Jimmy Choo to Michelle K.

The auction was presented by Martini
and Rossi Asti; New York Magazine, ecco shoes and
The Bubbly (
www.thebubbly.com) - the vibrant, online lifestyle
magazine, covering all things upscale in Soho and
Tribeca. The Bubbly was also celebrating its one-year
anniversary.

New York Cool would like to give
a big shout out to The Bubbly and their benefit
for City Harvest and in the (paraphrased) words
of country singer Johnny Duncan, tell you that “you
can put your shoes under our bed anytime.”
